About Us

We started this blog to keep family and friends updated on our first home and renovation project. We were doing so much we couldn't possibly keep everyone updated. Many of our first posts were done in haste in between scraping popcorn ceilings and installing hardwood floors. We wanted everyone to feel they were involved while we were so distracted by our project. We felt the overwhelming love and support of all those we updated. As our big projects came to a close we realized that we love renovating and fixing up our own home. Even though a big portion of our projects are complete there is still more to do and more to improve. We called this blog the burrow because a burrow is a home built by otters. I have had a love for otters long before I met hub. The otter can be described as playful, loyal, and loving. Three virtues we are both committed to.




Our style is our own - we love orange (can you tell) and anything re... re-cycled, re-styled, re-painted, re-done, re-used, and re-loved. Hub loves practicality, organization, and well made. I love color, comfy, and imperfect. Together our imagination runs wild with the things we could do. But nothing comes easy, we have to save and plan and sacrifice for all projects. Nothing is done without careful thought and consideration. Except that time I painted the bathroom on a whim, and that time we got free sod, or that time we drove an hour for some chairs... ok so we are not perfect.

A few disclaimers - we are not professional builders, painters, artists, chefs, patio layers, organizers, contractors, demolitionists, tilers, woodworkers, landscapers, web designers, photographers, gardeners, plumbers, or electricians.

We are - professional experimentalists, attempters, optimists (almost always), savers, doers, procrastinists, youtubers, pinteresters, ok lets try this-ers, and fail-ers.

Many projects we take on do not come out perfect and sometimes we have to say "it's good enough." And sometimes we even have to call in help from those professionals I mentioned. There are times when we have to put each other over unfinished projects and big dreams. We have had so much fun making our burrow our own. This burrow of ours is bursting with love and fun and I hope you will continue to follow along with us. Hub and I are both big dreamers, we just can't help that! So keep watching for many more changes and improvements to come.

Oh and did I mention when we are not home improving we love to play so if your wondering why we haven't been posting in a while it's because we are out having adventures...
